Twitter Enhances Search Results For Cashtags

Posted by

Twitter is updating the user experience for cashtags, showing rates charts when users click on the sign of a significant stock, ETF, or cryptocurrency.

Adding a dollar sign in front of a stock or currency symbol, like $AAPL, produces a clickable cashtag.

Previously, clicking a cashtag would take you to a standard set of search results featuring popular tweets.

If you wanted to find out the present value of the stock or currency, you had to check out another website to get the info.

Now, you can get the info you’re trying to find instantly with updated search results page for cashtags.

In addition to clicking on cashtags, you can activate the new search experience by looking for the symbols with or without the dollar indication.

Twitter states it’s presenting this function with the major symbols first, and will expand its coverage of symbols in the coming weeks.
